For many beef lovers out there, I believe that one of the easiest and most favorite dishes to prepare at home is the Beef with Broccoli. Of course, there are different available cooking procedures online as soon as you search using the Internet. On the other hand, I still consider the slow cooking method because this sustains the tenderness and juiciness of the beef meat. Remember that if you cooked the beef perfectly, it becomes more delicious to eat and the addition of the broccoli makes it more nutritious.
Here is the process of Beef with Broccoli Slow Cooking Style
- 1 kilo Beef Sirloin (sliced and cut in horizontal)
- ½ kilo Broccoli (sliced for this particular dish)
- 3 cups of water (2 cups for boiling purpose)
- ½ cup Oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoon of butter
- 8 cloves of garlic (minced and chopped)
- 1 large white onion (chopped finely)
- 2 tablespoon Soy sauce (optional)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (dissolve in ¼ cup of water)
- Small ginger (sliced thinly in horizontal)
- Ground pepper
- Salt to taste
In a medium-sized casserole, boil the sliced beef with 2 cups of water in a medium fire for at least 30 minutes or until tender then set aside.
Using a large mixing bowl, put the boiled meat, add the Oyster sauce, soy sauce, 3 cups of water, ground pepper, salt, and then mix well. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before the cooking procedure to allow the meat absorb the mixture perfectly.
When ready to cook after refrigeration, sauté the garlic, ginger and onion in the butter for at least 2-3 minutes. Afterwards, stir fry the beef until golden brown before including the remaining marinating sauce. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes and then add the right amount of pepper and salt if necessary.
While simmering, blanch the broccoli is a small saucepan with warm water and little amount of salt before straining. The last procedure is to add the dissolve cornstarch to thicken the sauce and then top the blanched broccoli to the simmered beef. Prepare the dish using a large platter and serve to eat!
